Yan's son is in eleventh grade and will be attending school here. Does anyone have a good chinese-english electronic dictionary to recommend for him to use.New and improved versions come out every year.

You may find a good deal on ebay. There are Besta models from $85 to $350 there, depending on how much you want to spend...........Bob.........

I had to search for this one. The Franklin B1100 was the first one I ever bought my wife and it's at a good price. Not only that, it is still working. She gave it to her daughter to use in college. And I bought that thing back in April 2004 and it's still working. She says her daughter likes it and wanted it to take with her.

I couldn't remember the name or model of it at first but I remembered getting it from Aim High and I remember paying about what it shows now, $140. I didn't spend alot for it but still working for over 5 years and paying $140 for it isn't such a bad deal, about $28 a year!... ;)

My hubby and I have the Cannon Wordtank V90, which has Chinese-English-Japanese. Even if Japanese is not necessary, it works so beautifully. It also has the English-English so that once his English gets better he can use it as an English dictionary too. We did buy one in China that was just Chinese-English, but I do not even use that one anymore. If they are still in China now, they can find some pretty nice ones. The one we had that was Chinese-English had a lot of good functions and even sentence translation. It was not so easy for me to use because for that one, you had to know the hanzi for a word you were looking up, but since her son is Chinese it would not be a problem. Buying them in China is probably a good idea because the ones made in China are user friendly for Chinese people. :D They also have really neat ones. Ours had a color screen and even games :D
