Highlander
I was thinking of buying a small portable TV for my Fiancee in China, since we will be apart another year. I am looking at 15 inch with DVD player. This would be something she could bring back here later. I bought her a 15 inch laptop last month, which she is very happy with. I sent her the $$, since the laptop was the same price there as here. I was wondering if the small TVs cost near the same as here. Found a 15" with DVD at Walmart, $170. dnoblett
The laptop should be able to play DVDs, and perhaps you can get a USB TV receiver for the laptop. One note reception standards for TV vary depending on country, here in North America the standard is NTSC Digital, most new TVs can receive NTSC Digital and the older NTSC Analog which is no longer being broadcast. The broadcast standards in China may be different.
Randy W
China is PAL Analog. TV prices here are generally the same as in the US, although you can find cheaper off-brand TV's at lower prices in the US. Here's a Chinese brand http://www.amazon.cn/mn/detailApp/ref=sr_1...S6ME&sr=8-2 YesAsia is a good place to check out stuff like that http://www.yesasia.com/global/dvd-players-...46-en/list.html
