Apparently the hike a couple years ago didn't improve things as they thought... and now because it's SO DIFFICULT to consider K-visa cases they said they need more money. More money for 5 minute interviews?

Raising of fees are inevitable, it's just how much they are hiking them that's notable this time. Maybe they are just trying to rebalance the supply demand curve.

No doubt this will raise the barrier to entry for some folks and cause hardship for others.

At least they are giving you a timeframe and venue to vent your grievances, I would encourage all who have opinions regarding these increases to voice them.

My comments sent, but trust me, as a former contractor at FERC, the comments on NOPRs (Notice of Proposed Rulemaking) will fall on deaf ears. Your best bet is to contact your congress critter and have them make a comment on your behalf and it WILL get read more seriously, especially if a few different ones comment.

I also don't like the fact that although I petioned in late 2009, we will still get hit with the fee hike when the delay is because of THEM, not me.

Hey now, we don't want the poor ol' USCIS and DOS to become wards of the state do we? :worthy: Everybody saw how much the last increase helped with speedy and efficient service. :worthy:

This is a good thing, right? :worthy:

The government raised the hell out of taxes on cigarettes the first of this year, why not again raise the fees on immigration petitions. The government is going to find each and every way to take money to pay their spending. It's certainly not like the "old days" when filing a I-129F was only $90. Welcome to the "tax & spend" times. :worthy:

More like the find another way to not really raise taxes after it's already been spent days

Unfortunately there aren't enough people in my city that worry about paying these fees so with just one person telling their representative a complaint about these fees... it seems to get neglected, I feel. How can we be assured that our voice is heard where it needs to be?

See if FOX will air a story on it?

:-)

The anti-immigration lobby in this country will probably complain that the fees aren't hiked enough. I doubt that CFL has enough people on it to pull it one way or another, maybe if we get VJ and the other sites involved.

Tax and spend socialists target certain enities that will not arise the publics attention. Ie Cigarette and alcohol taxes. After all they bad for you says Big Brother. By the way I will spend these tax dollars they way I see fit.
