Looks amazing. I love when modern filmmakers make the choice of using B/W when tackling difficult material.

 

Not a best foreign pic contender though. Forever Enthralled was submitted for consideration. Which I haven't seen yet either.

Haven't seen it, but hear it's very well-done and provides good background on the many atrocities committed by Japan against China during WWII. Japan has never admitted or stepped forward to compensate the thousands of victims.
