Learn to talk English for Chinese speakers MP3

Recommended Posts

I tried this once before.....

...but most people seemed to think that I wanted to learn Chinese (which I do, but I've already bought a boat load of training for me).

I'd like to get MP3 English lessons for my Chinese speaking wife.

At this late date, I think I'm stuck with whatever I can download from the internet to her MP3 player. Her plane leaves Sunday afternoon.

TIA for any leads.

I'm also a huge fan of Pimsleur. It is a good starting point, if you can cover the financial commitment.

This link looks decent assuming that she's already acquired a basic level base. It has an audio CD that you can download in American accent that can accompany several PDF lesson files. I will say that their website looks a little shoddy, and I believe there are some referral links to other English programs. I found that to be a little confusing. You may want to wade around in it and see if you can find something useful.

EDIT:

Ok, I didn't really review the material, but only glanced over the first few lessons. It looks like the website lessons carry a Christian perspective, as the later lessons get into subjects such as the apostles and Christ. I'm cool with that, but you may not be. However, this is probably one of the main reasons why it's free. It seems though that the way they teach the fundamentals of English is solid. Some of the methods that they use to reinforce sentence patterns and grammar fundamentals seems to be on par with what many Chinese ESL books are teaching.

I ran into this too and passed over it figuring I'd find something else. Now I'm downloading it; with a little luck my wife won't convert.
