Got NVC case number for CR1, what's the next step?

Hi all,

 

What do I need to do next after receiving the NVC case number? I know i have to pay $70 and fill out DS-3032, but what else I need to do/ or attach to it? Thanks

You have two options,

 

The old slow method send an I-864 to them and then send all required documentation to them after which they will send the case to GUZ bu courier service which take 3-4 months. You can email them the DS-3032

No signature needed when emailing DS-3032, just follow the template I linked. Or she can fill out one and scan and email the scan.

Yes, and perhaps they will send you an email if she included your address in the email "Email: <Petitioner's E-mail Address>"

First thanks for all your answers. When I get to the point they ask me to submit my wife's police certificate, marriage certificate, etc, I could not use electronic proces anymore right. I need to send in the real paper work. For people who have red books, do you send those red books in or you guys make certificate copies? Thank you very much

NO, what you will be doing is scanning these documents and then sending them as attachments in an email to NVC, the actual documents your spouse will carry into the consulate when being interviewed.

 

You should not mail any physical paper documents to the NVC if you choose to participate in electronic processing. This will delay processing of your case.

 

IMPORTANT: Once electronic processing has been chosen it is critical that no hard copy documentation be mailed to the NVC. Submission of physical paper documents will delay processing.

Yes the copies your wife should be getting now from her notary office along with English Translations. They wont need a copy of passport, just police cert, marriage cert, birth Cert, any divorce certs, and DS-230.

The consulate mails out Packet 4, it will be sent to the address in China specified in this supplemental document, as well as the address noted on form DS-230.

 

Packet 4 tends to be mailed out about a month befor interview date.
