Very beautiful songs. I posted a very nice song some months back by Chyi Yu 橄欖樹. It fits our SOs and us so well.

English Translation:

Don't ask from where I have come

My home is far, far away

Why do you wander so far

Wander so far, wander so far

For the little bird flying in the sky

For the blue brook running in the mountain

For the broad meadow green and wide

I wander, wander so far

Then, is there more?

Yes, for the Olive tree of my dream

Don't ask from where I have come

My home is far, far away

Why do you wander?

Why do you wander so far?

Far, far away

For the Olive tree of my dream

Don't ask from where I have come

My home is far, far away

Why do you wander so far

Wander so far, wander so far

Yes, they are very beautiful songs. ---Of course, only because they are to my taste, I posted them. :)

The song pasted by Tony, if used on the Chinese who live in America, it arouses the feeling that "dont feel belong", "lost root". But so what, once you are in the new life long, you don't feel like going back to the old life anymore...

I found this Chinese love song before I returned to see my wife this spring. It is a very fitting sound. My wife played and sang it to me a few times in a Karoke cafe when we where together. The singer is named Chyi Yu and its title is Olive Tree I believe. It is a very pretty song.

DavidZ's Lili explained to me once that this song was written during a time when many Chinese women had escaped to and were living in Russia. And, that the singer, (Chyi Yu?), later committed suicide.

I am lucky that my youth started in 1990s when China cities became very open at a fast speed---the famous 1989 students' movement contributed to this fast opening too, whether you like or not, it was the fact.

This song ¡¶Wish you the best¡· both in Contonese version and Mandarin version was the one initiated our young hearts' dream for the future. Several girls and I were sitting under the tree in high school campus. We were talking about the immediate future that which colleges, which majors we were going to pursue, and whether we would go to study in a new city that we have never been to. I started to hum this ¡¶Wish you the best¡· and other girls then hummed together. The romantic 1990s raised its curtain... The forever 1990s brought this world most beautiful songs, was culminates of Chinese pop music. My cousins were born in 1980s and 1990s, and yes, they are very young. But, they are amazed for the beautiful songs I showed them from 1990s, so many.

Yes, this song probably could be taken as a milestone for a new page of a Chinese woman's dream, very unforgetable:

That is exactly me. You have great observation, Mr. Sexy Scorpio. You could guess my sign. Might you could observe Gong Li. I have same sign of her.

Ok, people of the same sign behave different, but they have some features in common. This beautiful sexy Gong Li could interpret some of the features of the sign that I belong to. If not that her teech look not good, she is a perfect looking woman. She has perfect body shape, very plump, yet not in the fat way, especially when she was young. Jet Li's wife was born the same day as Gong Li. Jet Li's wife has both a very beautiful face and a very plump yet slim figure.

Errr, I am vanish... :(
