Can notarization be done else where other than the public notary

Recommended Posts

Besides the public notary, will Guangzhou accept other notaries?

What are you needign to be notarized?

If it is something from a US citizen, they US citizen can use a Notary in the USA, typically at a bank, and typically at no charge. If US citizen is in China, they can use the notary service at the consulate.

If this has to do with Chinese documents, that these documents are handled by the notary offices in China.

The only document I know of that US citizens may get notarized is perhaps an evolution of relationship letter.

jin01 - there are many notary offices in her town, but only a few that do the official translation to english. if she doesn't like 'that' office, so far -

then ask her to go to the marriage bureau, and then ask the clerk WHICH translation office they recommend for a US-Consulate-issued 'affadavit of marriageability' (usually translated into chinese from english ) - as NORMALLY that ofice will swing the other way, also - ie - chinese into english, with the proper chop on it.

Is she really getting the run-around? what city is she in? perhaps if you told us which city, others here would be able to make suggestions on the 'other' notary / translation offices in that city...
