seeker2k
hi i mailed in my package and received my I-797C about 6 weeks ago. i remember reading somewhere, but not sure where, about designating a mailing agent at some point of the process. mailing things to my fiance is a bit complicated since not all mail delivery people are familiar with roman alphabet, and because she leaves 9am in morning and returns home around 8pm at evening from work, and many of the regular mail carriers fail to leave her a notice of delivery. also, her address itself is not of same format as most standard western addresses and unless i put it on whatever i am sending complete, and include a Chinese language version, it usually gets back to me with "incomplete address". the way i get around it, is simply use EMS for the important stuff and keep an eye on the tracking number, and let her know when it gets to her post office. she then goes and picks it up. only regular plain small letters seem to get through fast and without problems, but not documents or larger packages. in addition, when i send things to her i put down the address both in Chinese and in English, something the authorities i am sure will not do. i am very worried if she gets anything sent to her from USCIS or NVC that she will not receive it, or not receive it in time. this is 1 document i forgot to include with my original package. so my questions are: 1. at what point of the process will the USCIS or NVC send anything to her ? 2. how do I designate myself as mailing agent so that i may make sure that mail gets to her ? should i call them up and is there a form for it ? or do i just write a letter ? will they let me include another attachement like this into the package this far into the process ? i do not know how to proceed with this. thanks for help Link to comment
Randy W
Whatever you filed, I-129F or I-130, should include her mailing address in the native Chinese characters at an address where she CAN receive mail. You can find out by calling DOS when a Pn has been mailed to her, and pick up the forms from the GUZ website GUZ - Current Forms and Packets for K1/K2/K3/K4, Packet 3, Packet 4, SB1 (Returning Resident) You will, however, need an actual appointment letter for her to get in the Consulate Edited August 9, 2009 by Randy W (see edit history) Link to comment

Randy W
The NVC sends Form DS-3032 Choice of Address and Agent (../visa/frvi_forms.html ) to the applicant (your spouse). The applicant selects an agent. The agent can be anyone, including the applicant. The NVC will mail all future letters (except for the Affidavit of Support, Form I-864) about processing the immigrant visa case to the agent. Make sure the postal address is correct and is kept up-to-date. for immigrant visas http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/80023.pdf Also, check thishttp://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form Edited August 10, 2009 by Randy W (see edit history) Link to comment
chilton747
You said "fiancee" in your original post so I have to think you are doing an I-129 fiancee petition. There is no choice of mailing agent for this. Your fiancee will be getting everything after the NVC is finished processing your case. The mailings must go to her. What you read for the mailing agent was for a spousal visa as Randy pointed out. Link to comment
