What happens if greencard interview scheduled while wife is in China?

I would suggest that you make an info pass appointment , make the call on Wednesday, and ASK to have the appointment BEFORE your wife's scheduled departure date. IMO, solves a LOT of problems.

 

My question about biometrics was more along her timeline - the interview could come anywhere from 2 to 11 weeks after the biometrics appointment was finished.

What I was trying to say is this -

 

 

Make an infopass appointment - call weds to set it up.

Then at the infopass meeting, ask for an Earlier AOS Interview Date, prior to the jump date.

Which center has your I-485? (MSC) or CSC? Did you get a transfer notice to CSC?

 

If CSC has the case in most cases this results in an approval without interview.

 

But yes, you do NOT want to miss an interview, and rescheduling can be problematic, even if you do get a reschedule and confirmation, sometimes the interviewing office does not get the reschedule, they can indicate a NO-SHOW, and then you have a mess to deal with.

Another member who lives in FL had situation where wife was in China and interview was scheduled, I beleive the member did an info pass.

Thr I-131 does not GUARANTEE re-entry. If she has a denial of the green card, that will show up at the POE, and she will be denied entry.

I agree with the previous posters. If you cannot get an InfoPass appointment prior that resolves the issue prior to the trip I would cancel the trip and make sure she attends the interview.
