White denial

Recommended Posts

I was reading the FAQ file on the Guangzhou website last night. It was asked why the interview was so short. The answer was as follows:

"Officers have access to a lot of information about each case before the applicant even comes to the window; information gathered from the interview forms only part of the evidence being considered by each officer. Due to severe time constraints, interviews must be handled expeditiously, and so officers are trained to only ask questions that they feel are directly relevant to the adjudication decision."

Some are already denied before they ever make it to the interview. Some are hanging by a thread. Some can only manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. A lot of emphasis is placed on the interview and it is important, but perhaps more important is the preparation of the case beforehand. It's too bad we don't know where we stand before the interview.

I seriously doubt anyone is denied before the interview, but they can surely start out walking on that trail if the case was poorly presented in advance.

Each and every case is about EVIDENCE; but it the kind of evidence presented that makes the difference. Each and every single case is different. One person is not the same as the next guy, and their partner is not the same as anyone else either.

Everyone must consider the areas where their case might raise questions. They must address these areas in advance. The case must not be modeled after Joe, if your name is Harry or Sally.

What are the variables in the case?

Recently divorced?

No common language, or very weak?

Married or engaged very quickly after meeting the first time?

Low or borderline income?

Photo, email, telephone records lacking?

Avoid throwing everything in an envelope without organizing the information to overcome the areas your case might be considered deficient. ALWAYS include a carefully composed "EVOLUTION OF RELATIONSHIP" letter that is cross-referenced and formatted according to the date in the left margin. This letter should always be included in the package when you FIRST present your case, as it may be too late to present it later.
