More baby stuff.

For those interested I've posted pictures of our little Sonny on a .Mac account...

Mother and baby are doing well. After a week in the hospital in Chongqing we returned to Hechuan where Youyue's parent's live. Youyue spent her remaining "40 days" there, as she wasn't allowed out of the house. This past Sunday we had a big banquet (8 tables of about 10 people each) where the baby's Wai Poh (grandmother, mother's side) showed Sonny off to the entire city, as far as I could tell.

The street noice at Youyue's parent's house was pretty bad and Sonny wasn't sleeping very well. Youyue, with mother's permission, returned to her aunt's house in Chongqing where it's far quieter. He does seem to be sleeping better as a result.

I had a very tearful goodbye at the Chongqing airport this morning with about 8 family members there for my send off. Lot's of tear-filled eyes! It's hard to leave but I know he's with a very large family of people who love him very very much. I try to find solace in knowing that at least eventually my little family will be together in our own home in Berkeley.

I'll post more pictures tomorrow to this site.

Great pictures Rob! You have a beautiful baby and a beautiful wife. You are truly blessed in so many ways. Brought a tear to my eye looking at the little guy.

Gives me something to look forward to for sure. We go back to the doc on Tuesday. These visits always make me a little apprehensive this early in the game, but all seems to be going ok.

I know leaving must have been heart wrenching for you. But, as you say, he is in good hands.

I agree with Mick....great pics! Somehow I feel like I got to know your wife a little too well. http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/_950/wonder.gif (just joking.......)

I loved the pics of your other "baby" too. Can't wait for that ride!!! http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/f/burnout.gif

I'm sure Mick and Tine might also feel like me....the pics are exciting but a little anxiety provoking. Huge responsiblity awaiting us........

PS: In HK? If you have time, go to JJs (next door to the Grand Hyatt). Find Anthony (the DJ) and say Dave from America says hi. I met him there September '02 at the same time I met JM. I hope he still remembers me...we were going to meet in Bangkok but missed each other. He's a great Aussie guy and should hook you up with freebies. The margs are GREAT!

Rob, really, really cute photos. Thanks for sharing. And yes, the goodbyes are truly heartwrenching. It's got to be even more so for you now with a new baby. I think the hardest part of it all is not knowing when our loved ones will finally be here with us in the U.S. So, we say our goodbyes, without knowing when we'll be together again. You're case is with the U.S. Consulate in GZ now so let's hope it will be very soon when Youyue receives that P3.
