update: i just spoke with USCIS again today and learned that the supervisor put in a request for my files (I-129F with exam). she said she will call me when she receives the files or a response. i have a glimmer of hope at least.

Trusting the USCIS as we all do, I would say that a "glimmer" is the appropriate word.

i just received a useless phone call from uscis and after much prodding i learned that, as we all suspected, our original i-129f packet including medical exam was not merged with the 485 application. uscis doesnt know where it is, but i suspect its still at the nbc in missouri. rather than waste more time with these bozos we will have to get a new exam. grrrr!

apparently this is a common problem as when i spoke with a supervisor her exact words were: in a perfect world the I-129F files containing the medical exam would be merged with the new I-485 application.
