20211alzh
I have an apparently less obvious, and potentially more troublesome, question than my previous one. We've just noticed that the Alien Number on our I-797C differs from the hand-written note on my wife's I-94. I'm inclined to believe the number on the I-797C is the correct one, but even if it is we now have two conflicting documents in our AoS packet. The two numbers are identical save for a '2' on the I-797C has become an '8' on the I-94. Has anyone come across a similar problem? I'm worried about it, should I be? I guess the obvious answer is to setup another Infopass appointment, but I'm tired of making that trip and would avoid it if possible. Link to comment
Sebastian
isn't this number ALSO printed on the visa inside of her passport ? I'd go with that number, if/when possible. Link to comment
20211alzh
isn't this number ALSO printed on the visa inside of her passport ? I'd go with that number, if/when possible. I looked for it on the Visa because I'd read somewhere that it may (should?) be there, but I do not see it. She's here on a K-1 visa, if that matters, and beneath Annotation it doesn't have a number as I read it might, but instead reads: "PETR: [my name]" Link to comment
georgeandli
Sebastian, The I-94 is filled out while you're in the plane[as far as I remember] with the where are you going to stay etc. I'm sure they cross reference with the passport and visa number but I don't think they are the same. Randy W
The I-797C would be the correct number - the I-94 was probably transcribed incorrectly. My guess is that you wouldn't have a problem, but that's just a guess - make sure to fill in the correct number every you can. It should be on the NOA2 you got when they sent your case to the NVC. No, it's not on a K_1 visa. Link to comment
