I don't know, ShaQuaNew, looks like short rations for a whole month. Unless you're planning on going out to pratice ordering

It was actually my thoughtful wife that did all the pre-ordering before she left. She just has an eye on taking care of me and wanted to make it easy for me while she was gone. I've gotten quite a bit of practice ordering since being here, but this will give me a bit more.

:D

is 24 per box? then I think yer totally set !!

If I was in yer shoes, I'd be scoping out the local night markets for interesting food, and finding a metal workshop where I could build some stuff, using someone else's tools.

These cases are actually 12 bottles per box, but large bottles; 600 mL each. That's 20.3 ounces each, which is enough for me.

I plan to do a lot of scoping out. The night markets in Nanjing are very popular and draw large crowds almost daily. I like your idea about finding a metal workshop to build stuff. It's always interesting to see the many shops that do repair and fabrication on the streets, often having very skilled people.

There's an expat bar that I like on the other side of town, that the bus can get me within about 1/2 mile. Buses run till 11PM every night. One thing about being alone here, is that I can go the places I want.

I have not seen a house in China large enough to hold a month's supply of beer :D Are you sure you're not living in a warehouse?

Much to my wife's major disappointment, we've not been able to find Cheetos here. Guess I need to have her load up one of her suitcases on the return flight.

During my second year in China, Li and I were apart for about eight months as she finished out her work in Anhui, before moving down to Guangdong, where I had moved. Of course, she came to visit about four times during that period of time.

Bless her.....she actually had one of our friends, a female in her mid-20's "look after me" while she was gone. She ended up spending so much time with me that some folks thought she was my secretary, and others thought she was my lover. In fact, the wife of one of our friends took it upon herself to tell Li I had taken a young lover while she was gone. When Li asked who it was, the woman told her and Li laughed for days about it.

And no, although we spent much time together, nothing of a carnal nature took place.

Jesse, you should be able to handle a month just fine. I see you have enough beer and I know for a fact they have Cheetos, or a pirate rip off of same, over there. Why not ask you lady to find you a young girl in her 20's to take care of you. I'll bet it still is a bit cold in Nanjing. :ranting: :P :censor: :eyebrow:

Hmmmm, so you have enough beer for the first week :ranting: What to drink the rest of the time?

Snow seemed to be popular in Hunan, although you could find Tsingtao here and there. Finding it here in the states seems to be limited to Asian restaurants :eyebrow:

Mick, sounds like you have a great relationship built on trust. My sweetie and I only have eyes for each other, so this sort of thing would get a laugh for us too.

Sorry, but NO. Sure, there are plenty of Wal-Marts in China, but if you've ever taken a look around inside, they don't carry the same products as US Wal-Marts. Anything made in America is heavily taxed, beyond the point of being ridiculous. We've spent a good deal of time looking around all the stores. Potato Chips, decent popcorn, cookies, and so on, are not there. If you really, really want the stuff, there are third-party carriers that will probably sell a bag of cheetos for fifty bucks.
