Guest ShaQuaNew
Lan and I are entertaining friends visiting China from the US. We've been enjoying the last several days traveling around China. We just returned from Beijing where I was able to visit and climb the Great Wall for the first time. Lan has done a wonderful job in getting us to the best places. As Mao said, you're not a real man until you climb the Great Wall. To be sure, the place where we visited the Wall, it was extremely steep, and equally breathtaking. Here are a few pics we'd like to share.... http://i42.tinypic.com/8y4wnn.jpg http://i43.tinypic.com/2evdf8z.jpg http://i43.tinypic.com/mmg6d2.jpg http://i42.tinypic.com/2uqkku0.jpg Link to comment

Guest ShaQuaNew
Tell me the name of the Great Wall location you went to... We went a little further from Beijing to get a better view and avoid the crowds. I don't recall the exact name of the location, but it's not too far from the Temple of the Ming Dynasty where the emperors are buried. I will ask Lan when she gets back... Link to comment

His looks more like Badaling as I remember it. But then I'm sure many of the locations look the same. Link to comment
amberjack1234
Randy your pictures of Mutianyu look like the old original stones that the original wall was made from. Jessie your pictures look like the reconstructed wall at Balaling all of the stone used there are newly made and constructed over the old wall bed. At least that is what my tour guide told me when I visited each one of them. She and I became close friends. Either way thank you both for sharing.
