sparkynow
How do I prepare to use a co-sponser? Do I use a separate I 134 form for the co-sponser? How is the co-sponsers income looked at? Is only a percentage of the co-sponsers income used? How do I get our picture to show when I post something? Guest Dylan W
You need to make minimum stable $17K for 3 consecutive/prior years by yourself. If you do not, you need a co-sponsor that makes minimum $23K for 3 consecutive/prior years. Having that said, you're co-sponsor is the one who will be most scrutinized for supporting your SO. So make sure it is someone close, like your family, so that you don't throw any red flags to the VO. In preparing the documents, you will need to complete the I-134 with supporting evidence such as a letter from your employer, and minimum 3 years of tax transcripts. You're co-sponsor will complete the same documents and you will have them both for the interview. Whatever you prepare, so will your co-sponsor. No different. There are other documents you can provide, just read the requirements as listed on the I-134, or check out DavidZ's FAQ's and Kitchen Sink treasure chest. Link to comment
