Renewing a travel Visa in China

I'm fortunate that we own a home in China .... my brother-in-law is the second highest ranking police officer in the city.... I'm known and respected in our hometown.

I agree with Richard.
I take it back. Now I've surmised some people have more pull than the rest of us.......

I admit, I'm in a fortunate situation. There are other family members who have even more pull than the brother-in-law I mentioned. I have never and hopefully will never need to use their influence.

Not having connections in some situations in China can result in problems, like having to bribe a corrupt minor official. So, while it should have been easy for everyone, there is a very real possibiltiy that was not the case.
