Hanging On Posted December 10, 2008 Report Share Posted December 10, 2008 We are finally ready to file for AOS. On the I-485, it asks for the: "Current USCIS Status". What is that? Also, it asks for the "Nonimmigrant Visa Number". I thought the K1 was an immigrant visa. There is a number (A# 882-----) written in on her passport under the stapled I-94. Is this the Alien Registration Number. There is no such number on her son's passport.Thanks. Link to comment

What is that? - Her current USCIS status should still be K-1 if is within 90 days Also, it asks for the "Nonimmigrant Visa Number". I thought the K1 was an immigrant visa.- K-1 is a Non-Immigrant visa (http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2994.html) There is a number (A# 882-----) written in on her passport under the stapled I-94. Is this the Alien Registration Number. There is no such number on her son's passport.- You are correct, K-2 has no A#. The A# will only be issued when you file AOS for your SO's son.Thanks.
