Buying Airline Tickets in China

I am making tennative plans to go back to China after Christmas. I did some checking on direct flight to Nanning and the price is ridiculous over $2,100.

I can fly to Shanghai R/T for $950 and then buy tickets R/T to Nanning for $445 a savings of over $700 plus cut my flight time down by nearly 5 hours.
