How long will it take you to get married, return to the US, and file your application for your wife?

 

How long will it take you to file an application for your fiance (assuming you've met her within the past two years)?

 

That's a big part of the difference right there.

 

Processing time for a CR-1 or K-3 is usually a little bit longer than for a K-1.

i was married in china and it took 1 year from submitting the I-130 to waiting for interview in china. you can view my timeline as references.

Our CR1 was tiny bit less than a year.....350 days

from the day I file to the day she got her visa. But that was

two years ago and I'm almost sure the Gummit doesn't have a

faster speed than they work at now

For us CR1 was the only way to fly, but others

will disagree.....

It boils down to what suites you and your better half

Both have pros and cons

 

The VO's have been know to ask why you didn't marry in China,

ect, etc.......

Cuz as you may or may not know this visa thingie is anything but

fast..... its hurry up and wait and no one is guaranteed a visa

yea sooner or later most get there visa

 

Maybe if your in a big hurry, you should think about marrying

someone one this side of the ocean.......

marry today and home in bed tonight

Yes as the others indicate, if you want to keep the immigrations process fairly simple and inexpensive, marry in China and file for the CR-1 (I-130 filing)

 

CR-1 takes a bit longer that the K-Visas but saves you from having to adjust status in the USA ($1010). CR-1 gets green-card upon entry to USA.

 

If speed is what you want then K-1 is the quickest option but has the added expense of AOS.

 

We did K-1 process took about 9 months for visa, and another 5-6 months to get green-card.
