We filed for Adjustment of Status (AOS), Employment Authorization (EAD) and Advance Parole in mid Julyth in person in Portland Oregon.

We received the EAD card on the same day.

Recently in mind September we received in the mail a letter from the BCIS indicating that the current processing time was 7 months.

During the application process in July we prepared the vaccination records signed by a civil surgeon (sealed), but they did not wish to see this document then. The September letter states that we must bring the vaccination records with us to the interview in 7 months. It also states that "failure to do so may result in the denial of your application."

Regarding fingerprints, it states in the letter....

"If you need to be fingerprinted in conjunction with your application, you will receive a separate notice from the Application Support Center (ACS) stating when and where to appear for fingerprinting."

We also received the Advance Parole document and authorization in September.

It is on form I-512 and is multiple pages including two pages with her pictures sealed on the pages in color. It provides written authorization and direction to customs/immigration regarding allowing this person to re-enter the US. We applied for multiple applications for Parole in the event that we wished to visit China more than once during the next year.

Seems like this process was cumbersome but less emotional draining that the initial K-1 process.

It is easier to wait with her and for her..........
