Believe it or not, this will be the first Mid-Autumn Festival I have spent outside of China since 1998. I always enjoyed the festival even though I am not a big fan of moon cakes. My students often gave me a plethora of moon cakes and I had many left over. Sometimes we put these in the refrigerator and kind of forgot they were there. After about three months, you can use them for hockey pucks.

Also, chongyang, the double ninth (_99) festival is approaching, October 4th.

It is an ancient day full of legend and magic.

It is now a day for the elderly, so on that Saturday, do something good for your elders. They will love you for it and this will fill your heart full of gratitude and contentment, and there is where the magic lies.

xie xie
