Recommended Posts

hello to all. uscis recently revised the i-693 and i believe added some new tests and or vaccination requirements. is it acceptable to the uscis to have dr. l. e. arnold from texas to do the i-693 for my honey or will we have to have some additional tests and or vaccinations done? we had 3 vaccinations done in guz.

Dale, if your medical exam was done prior to 5/30/08, then you don't need to get anything else other than the three in GUZ, prior to 6/30, you will need TB skin test in addition, and after that, you will need some additional vaccination shots.

We just got our TB skin test back yesterday and we mailed the records to Dr. Arnold.

Best,

Jing

Typically the vaccinations required for I-693 are:
  • MMR (Mumps, Measels, Rubella)
  • Varicella (AKA Chicken Pox)
  • Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids
  • HPV (For Women)

The problem is the results of TB test was in the packet, unless you have a copy of the result, the US CS probably wont sign off on the TB test.

i'm still confused. i just read the q & a section on the uscis website pertaining to the tb and vaccination requirements. it states that if the medical has been performed in the last 12 months the cs simply needs to fill out the vaccination section of the form. the tb testing is in the medical portion of the form and doesn't need to be filled out. is this correct or am i way off? it appears that jing had to have the tb test done so its very confusing to me. thx. for any help.

This thread seems confused here - is anyone seeing a requirement for a TB test here in the states?

If so, is it from the USCIS or your doctor? Did you have anything other than a clear reading in GUZ?

Section 5 (vaccinations) says nothing about a TB test. Section 2 does - this should have been filled in in China and included in the sealed package.

thx. randy for the reply. part of my confusion comes from jing's post #2 where he states that i will need a tb skin test. we had our medical done in guz on 7-24-2008. i don't know the results of the tb test but they took an x-ray and they would not give me a copy of the medical report. they said guz does not allow this. so all i have is the x-ray.

That sounds normal to me - most likely, no one will ever ask to look at the x-ray. The medical report is in your file, and good for a year.

Maybe Jing can clarify why they need another TB test.
