Visitor Visa. Where do we start?

We want to bring my wifes mother her to visit.

Can we start this process now, before my wife has her Green Card?

There is not much that is done from the USA, the visa is applied for by the intending visitor at the nearest US consulate in China. They fill out form DS-156 and pay the $131 fee.

 

The visitor will be interviewed, and will need to show strong ties to China, evidence that the visit to the USA will be just a visit. Evidence like a lease, money in the bank, a job etc..
