Bill and Linda Posted August 11, 2008 Report Share Posted August 11, 2008 Lao po and I are thinking about a short trip to Lhasa from our home in Chengdu. We plan to stay for 3-4 days and travel via the Tibet Railway. Any suggestions as to decent inexpensive hotels? Also, I've read on some web sites that private travel in Tibet is prohibited, one must join a group tour..... is this true for a single destination such as Lhasa? Any help will be much appreciated. Daviation Posted August 11, 2008 Report Share Posted August 11, 2008 We took the train from Chengdu to Lhasa about this time last year... beautiful trip! I'm on a business trip right now... home in a couple of days and will check which hotel we stayed. If you need it sooner I can check with my wife and get the info sooner. We did join a tour and I think that was the only way for foreigners. More later... Link to comment
