As certain foreign leaders prepare to criticize China for various perceived abuses at the start of the Olympic games, it might be beneficial for them to be reminded of the unfortunate history of the Western powers in China...As the burned-out Summer Palace will be toured by many vistors this month, hopefully many will consider why and how this came to be...
