Bat755
Hello to everyone,I have been doing a lot of reading on this site and it is nice to see everyone doing well. Does anyone who has gone through the interview process have any tips for us before the interview and during it?. We are well prepared as we have all the documents all set and she also has a lot more info from me just in case they ask for it. I was wondering if they actually do check or re check on employment status as I have a new job that pays the same as my last one, or should I just leave as is?. They have all thepapers notarized with income on it from last job. Thank you so much for your input!!! Best wishes to all of you! Bruce and Shuping Link to comment

Toplaw
I think most people would agree with Rob. I probably also would agree if I had not done extensive research on the issue because of some articles I am writing. Who cares, what difference does it make, common sense should prevail. We often take this view as we go through life, and I agree with this point of view. I do it myself. What I paid extra attention to in this visa process, however, were the warnings and the penalties. Should we be extra careful because 18 U.S.C. section 100 provides that willfully and knowingly falsifying a material fact, making a false statement, or making use of a false document, will result in a fine of up to $10 K or imprisonment up to 5 years or both? Is your question one that would likely result in the imposition of even the lower end of these possible sanctions? I don't know, and I am not suggesting that it would. But what about the ever present threat that knowingly and willfully falsifying or concealing a material fact, or submitting a false document, will result in the denial of the visa, plus subjecting the person to criminal prosecution. There are always "ifs." If someone gets caught. If someone wants to make an issue of it if they catch it. If someone is looking for an excuse to delay or deny the visa. Sure these "ifs" may never happen. We each have to assess the risk and make the decision for ourselves. I may be the only person who feels this way, but I would never take the risk. It is too easy to correct the problem and eliminate the risk in my opinion. This is not a legal opinion by any stretch of the imagination. It is just my personal point of view. Link to comment
Randy W
You filled out your papers and turned them in. You didn't lie about anything (I'm assuming). They have no provision for making any last minute changes. It's possible that someone might make a last minute notation on your file. It's also highly likely that it would be ignored, especially since it is inconsequential to her petition. Most of us would avoid rocking that boat at this stage. Link to comment

Hello everyoneI have been very upfront and very honest with everything as I do not want to take any chances. When I submitted all my paperwork, my past employer was submitted and notorized as then I was working there, but have since changed positions as of this month (july) and I think I will get that notorized as well and email it to my fiance before her interview as then I will feel better and not have it waying on my mind, but my thoughts are do they look at how long you have been with a employer and make a judgement on that?. No - they may or may not look at the new I-134, but it certainly doesn't hurt to have it there. There is no need to offer it up, unless they ask. They usually don't. Link to comment

jim_julian
For the interview she should dress nicely ... like an "office lady" (she'll know what that means). She should smile, be friendly no matter how the VO acts, and be confident. Link to comment
