When we shopped for houses in 2006 we saw the migrant shantytowns at every development site. In Yunnan they had brought in Sichuanese workers who would work for less than the locals. On Hainan they were the country-people from Hainan. Without them these kind of construction projects would be far more expensive. It seems that the party is ending as skilled migrants are in demand for construction work all over the world, even in the US...
