New China visa rules

Of course it is my luck to wait for the NEW rules!!!

 

Now to apply, you must provide airline tickets, and hotel reservations before they will grant the visa.

 

This means I must wait until interview is scheduled, then order tickets, then RUSH to get visa before the interview.

 

For hotel reservations, they said I can include the name, address, and telephone number of the person who is inviting me.

Grumble, I wonder if I can send my ownership papers for our home in China and tell them I am going to invite myself ?

L- visas.

Rules are from Bejing, so should apply at all consulates.

I read the rules on the Houston Chinese consulate web site, called a Houston visa service, and then called the Chinese consulate in Houston.

 

Rules went into effect today (April 21) so may be some turmoil, but everyone agreed I'd need the round trip flight tickets, and the location staying proof.
