Address question

Recommended Posts

This is just a simple question about which way I should put my wife's address on the g235-a form before I send the whole mess in for AoS.

Our street was renamed since she was last here to make it easier for emergency services to locate residences, originally we had a rural address number like

HCR 35 Box suchandsuch

when she lived here.

We are physically still in the same spot, but now it's

J.P. Howard Road Box suchandsuch.

I have come to learn that the USCIS ppl do not know the difference between their asterisks and a hole in the ground (found that out when I got the original I-864 form returned 3 months after they received it as INCOMPLETE...because I didn't put N/A in the apartment blank).

I don't want to generate an RFE because something doesn't match. Should I enter the address as it now is, or just put it as I did when I originally filed.

Hope that makes sense ;)

At some point, you will want to file an Ar-11 change of address for her, and an I-865 for yourself.

For now, though, just make sure you can receive any mail they send you.

ah sorry i didnt mention that. i filed the change of address thing last year before she even came.

she was an exchange student on a J visa 3 years ago. she stayed with me a year at that address.

she then went back to china for 2 years. i was fortunate enough to go there for 6 months of that time.

my address changed shortly after she arrived. i have already filed and received the change of address receipt.

i was wanting to know if on the 325a if i should use my new street name or the old one for her first stay here in the usa with me.

Oh - I missed that you haven't filed for AOS yet - as long as her present address is consistent on the applications, you're in good shape. The old addresses don't matter, especially if you can still receive mail at that address, but I would use the new address since it's the same physical location
