Don
I followed the info in Urkidding post (http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28785), but i want to make sure of one point. My daughter is here on a k-2 so no ssn# until we get the EAD or GC (not sure which). I am going to file the W-7 for her. It seems that I am supose to send my 1040 to the Austin address with the W-7, Correct? Now do i still file my 1040 as normal, or just with the W-7? Thanks, Link to comment
LeeFisher3
You are correct, you will need to send both the W7 and tax return to Austin, the following is from the W7 instructions. How to Apply 2. Your original, completed tax return(s) forwhich the ITIN is needed. Attach Form W-7 tothe front of your tax return. After your FormW-7 has been processed, the IRS will assignan ITIN to the return and process the return. The tax return will be processed as if it werefiled at the address listed in the tax returninstructions. Do not send a copy of the returnto any other IRS office. Edited February 26, 2008 by LeeFisher3 (see edit history) Link to comment
