cisco10s
Yes, my fiancée's packet # 3 went to the hotel next to the consul. The hotel manager says that he forwarded the packet to the consul. Does anyone know how I may check to see if the Consul has received packet #3? Also, how do people find out when the name checks are started/completed? Thank You Terry (and Summer) Link to comment

yanhua
hi..are you also a k1 applicant? If you are in the new visa process, it means your fiancee's name clearance was already done in the US before it was sent to Guangzhou. In this case, guangzhou still needs to do a minor name check on your fiancee after they send out P3, but it takes very short time, maybe up to 1.5 months. Link to comment
yanhua
You can email GZ using a special form and ask them if they have received your p3 and have all the papers necessary for the interview. But i would recommend sending p3 by EMS. In this way, you have a number that you can track. More convinient:) Link to comment
tparrent
Don't worry, it is normal for the packages to go to the White Swan Hotel first. I'm not sure why but they collect a lot of the mail originating inside China for the consualte and then forward it. We sent our P3 to the consulate by EMS and it still ended up at the White Swan. Trust me, this is not where delays are created. White Swan seems to do their job quite well. Link to comment
