AP filing

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how long it takes or should take to file for advance parole?

Our attorney says ~90 days. We filed in October and are still waiting. Our AP is the standard filing. You can also file an emergency AP that will be processed in days, but you'll need supporting evidence of the emergency such as doctor's notarized letter (that family member is sick) etc.

It takes up to 90 days to process AP. Needs to be filed for with AOS or after filing for AOS and attach a copy of I-485 NOA1 letter.

This can be filed for electronically.

If you've filed for AP and the time to travel is approaching you can sometimes make an InfoPass appointment and get it issued on the spot. As mentioned above, you'll do well to have supporting evidence.

In our case I gave the InfoPass IO a letter from my company that said I had to go on a one month business trip and it would be beneficial if my wife could accompany me. They issued the AP.
