jhammer
I will be filing an I-129 for K1 visa and same for K2 in the near future. I am curious what is germane about me in the process beyond the questions on the form. I understand and have no problem with supporting evidence against marriage or immigration fraud, but what about me is going to be asked or investigated before the whole thing is done, and what is the likely impact of the answers? I am thinking of some things such as, bankruptcy filing, employment status, level of income, home ownership vs rental, total assets or whatnot? Thanks! Link to comment

Being employed or having retirement income above the 125% poverty level is desireable. Under that level you need assets (5 times the amount lacking in income level)or a co-sponser. no need to own a home. If you are 125% above poverty level no need to list assets. Link to comment

(This is explained in form I-864 instructions) Also you don't need to file an additional I-129F for the K-2, you list the K-1's children on the I-129F, and it will be assumed that they will be K-2 derivative visa holders. Guest Rob & Jin
Another possible concern: what about trouble with the IRS ? Will that impact the process ? Thanks for all your help. No, they are only concerned about your income- 125% above poverty line.Having said this if you have not filed tax returns or are not going to this year you may have difficulties with GUZ as they like to see transcripts/returns with your I-134 at the interview.
