Loren and Yanping
What does IR-1 mean? If your marriage is more than 2 years old. How can you be assured that you will be registered as a Permanent Resident instead of a Conditional Resident? Link to comment
MikeandRong
The immigrant visa is a CR ( conditional resident ) visa, or an IR ( immediate relative ) visa. Good reading for your questions here. Immigrant Visa for a Spouse (IR1 or CR1) http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/ty...991.html#Spouse Link to comment
dnoblett
CR-1 is issued to spouse who has been married less than 2 years at interview time, if 2nd wedding anniversary happens between time of visa issue and entry to the USA, show the wedding cert to POE officer at entry, and officer will code the green-card as IR or Un-Conditional 10 year, if not married more than 2 years upon entry, then will get 2 year conditional green-card that requires filing I-751 within 90 days of green-card expiration to get the conditions removed. IR-1 is issued to spouse who has been married more than 2 years at interview time, and upon entry will get 10 year un-conditional green-card. NOTE: This is not a GUZ-Speaks post, and should have been posted to: "General Visa Discussion & First Steps" anyone can answer this one for you.
