Ugly American clothes

It is a special challenge for most Chinese women to buy grown up looking clothes in your typical American department stores.

 

We are fortunate that there are some Chinese "department" stores that cater exclusively to Chinese customers (sizes). But still, there's nothing like taking Leiqin or other Chinese friends to an American Mall and watching them go for the hunt.

 

Sure, there are more plus size American women. And, most clothes on the American store's racks are plus sizes. However, I have yet to encounter any thin Asian woman walking around wearing what we would call "tents" or used to call Moo Moos because she could not find something size appropriate.

 

Heck, I'd just like to know why all those department stores think that all the American men have a 32" waist and 34" leg!

 

edit: Personally, I am at the age where I am beginning to wish they'd bring back the leisure suit.

 

Try buying clothes for your two sons ages 11 and 12 in China!!!

 

Also tried buying a shirt for myself at the "Wall" XL, yes right......

Joanie and I deep sixed some of her Mothers clothes before they left China .

We have no problem finding Grown up and stylish clothes here , Joanie is a size 2 or 3 Lisa is a 4 .

The only problems have been in buying socks for Lisa , she now is in the girls sock size of 4

Hello, I am a chinese woman. 27. I am also a petite. I just wanna say I was very disappointed when I first went to Macy's in CT. Please don't feel offended. The clothes looked so dull, ugly and big, old fashioned, cheap materials... looked like a clearance warehouse...I looked around and nothing came in my eye.

 

I'm not offended. My wife agrees with you. She said, "very easy to buy clothes for husband." "All the clothes in the female side looked like the fashionable clothes "on sale" in 2007 look like they are the ugly clothes unsold from the 80s."

 

Next time we visit her family in China I'm bringing extra money to buy her a year's worth of clothes that look good and fit her beautiful body.
