Biometrics appointment

fingerprints, and a photo for the card(s)

cool, thanks.

how long after biometrics before i765 is approved?

K-1 Nonimmigrant Fiance(e) of U.S. Citizen orK-2 Dependent--(a)(6). File your EAD applicationif you are filing within 90 days from the date of entry. This EAD cannot be renewed. Any EAD applicationother than for a replacement must be based on yourpending application for adjustment under ©(9).

Hopefully, you filed under ( c )(9), and not ( a )(6). The ( a )(6) is only good for the 90 days that you already have work authorization for, but the ( c )(9) is usually filed with the AOS application.

About a month for us between bio-metrics and getting the card.

I think I did c(9). I think the a6 and the 90 days work authorization is for k1, not k3 which is what i am.

Yes K-3 can do the EAD before AOS and get a card with expire same as I-94, K-3 can just get EAD, then SSN and wait until a few weeks before 2nd wedding anniversary to file for AOS this results in an un-conditional green-card, no conditions to remove. K-3s can get away with this because of the up to 2 year I-94 card, and 2 year K-3 visa, 2nd wedding anniversary always happens within the 2 year period of the K-3.

thanks dantheman....

problem is that i already filed AOS to get the cheaper pricing. so i guess i will still have to remove the conditional status of her green card after our 2 year anniversary.

So my wife just got her biometrics appointment (for I175) today and is schedule for 08/21.

so what do they do exactly, just finger prints

??? :D

I wasn't expecting this to happen so quick, so I've not had a chance to research this...

So how was it? How did it go? Can you answer your question for us now? :D

It was a breeze. We were in and out in 20 minutes. Pick a number, fill in the sheet, wait your turn, get fingerprints and pictures...Bada-Bing...Bada Boom...We're outta here.

ours wans't so good in seattle. wen through security (1 minute), waited in line (1 minute), checked in with the guy at the desk (1 minute), filled out papers (2 minutes) and got number (35 minutes), entered finger print room and she was in there for another 20-25 minutes.

it gets worse for the poor chaps after me. when we left the buidling, there was a line 20+ people deep just outside (before security which is the first part) around 2.25pm.

also, we got their 20 minutes early and from i can tell, it doesn't matter if you get there much earlier than your 'appointment', but i don't know for sure. i don't think the security or front desk dude looked at the date of our appointment, but i might be wrong. anyways, next time i'm going at least an hour early (if she has an interview).
