warpedbored
I think you can still go down there, take a number and wait. It's pretty much an all day affair though. In the goodle days when Bing and I filed AOS we submitted the papers at the Portland Office in the morning and came back in the afternoon to get her EAD card. Link to comment
dnoblett
And yes, before Dan corrects me by stating the K-1 visa expires upon entry to the US and that the validity of a visitor/immigrant's stay in the US is governed by his or her I-94, we all generally refer to the K-1 visa as being a 90-day visa. You are learning! Yep that one bugs me often when I see the "My Visa is expiring soon" comment. I think you can still go down there, take a number and wait. It's pretty much an all day affair though. It was an EAD card with her photo on it and everything. Before they moved all the control out of the local offices You could submit all of your AOS paperwork at the local office and come back that afternoon to have your photo taken for the EAD card. Just like the DMV you sit down and wait until they called your name and pick up the card. Done deal. It really sucks because Portland was a very efficient office and got things done in a timely manner. Link to comment
