purchasing a home in China

Recommended Posts

My Lao Po says Zhongshan is in the other direction. We paid 3760 RMB / M2. Now the price is 5000 RMB / M2. Of course when you buy a house in China, all you get is a hole. We will still need to spend 100K RMB to decorate it. But it has a panoramic river view. It will be real nice when it's done. Here is the website of the real estate. http://www.chfdc.com/fz/lou3.asp

Yes I am south of GZ. We paid 3100RMB m2 and got a 92.5 m2 house. You must have a very nice place. You can see pics of mine in my gallery here on CFL.

Ours is 127 M2 on the 18th floor of a 21 floor building. It will finally be finished in May 2008. We paid for it in March 2007, and we had a lottery to choose units when they opened it up for sale. Did you need to decorate yours? Ours won't even have plumbing or electrical. But that's the standard way they sell many properties in China.

Wow you are way up there!! We are on the first floor of a 6 floor building. My wife had contacted the builder of 2 places and we bought from the 2nd place. There was no lottery so we bought what we liked out of what they had available. Yes we will have to do the walls, floors, appliances, etc. but the figure my wife gave me was no where near 100000RMB. I can't remember the exact amount but I know it was less than half of that. I am also not sure about the plumbing and electricity but I did tour the building in progress and it looked like to me that it was there. I'll ask lao po to be certain. Lao po tells me that we can get things very cheap in Zhongshan and she knows how to do the work as well as I do so we will do it together.

Are you planning on moving there soon? As to when I move there depends on the VO at her next interview

I just talked to my wife and she says that the house comes with plumbing and electricity but we will have to modify it as she says it will not suit what we want. She tells me that we will need 20000 - 30000 RMB to finish the house.
