We have been enjoying our marriage and life together. I have not forgotten who to ask about immigration matters. My lovely wife's green card will expire October 31, and we are to file I-751 after July 31. I understand these applications are taking up to a year to process. My question is, what do we do if she wants to leave the country in the interim? Phil Link to comment
warpedbored Posted June 21, 2007 Report Share Posted June 21, 2007 Great to hear from you Phil. Once you file the I-751 you will receive a NOA in about a month. This letter basically extends her green card while your application is being processed. It is the only proof you will have that your wife is in the country legally until her 10 year card is approved. The letter and her expired green card will suffice in the mean time. Link to comment
