I think the interest in all things China is going to grow very quickly in the next few years. I think that's a good thing.

Yeah Jim, interesting articles. What stuck out to me the most was the inexperience of the Chinese army and it's officers. A true and profound statement.

I also read the articles. Seemed that the reporting was a bit "slanted" at times, but definetly worth a read. My only hope is that the world doesn't push China into another Somalia like we had! That was a still on-going debacle. I won't say much more since it would turn into ANOTHER banned subject of political debate.

After my recent visit to a particular city in ShanXi Province,CHANGZHI,I can attest to the fact that they are all indeed brainwashed.

Imagine in this day and age,2007,a group of local ShanXi officials surrounding a tree that was planted by a historic military leader,then picking up twigqs that have fallen from that tree,breaking those twiggs in half and holding them up to the sun and all saying that they all can actually see the "red star" in the broken ends of the twiggs,because that particular tree was planted by that particular historic military leader.

Its really happening like this today.
