Signal
I'm a little confused about this step of the AOS...I keep hearing some people talk about a "yellow book" and getting shots in China...Some say they needed a series of shots and others saying they did not get ANY shots, just had the CS sign off on the I-693A...We are K-1 but my wife said she did not get any shots in China...She also does not have a "yellow book"...Can we still submit only the I-693A as stated on page three of I-485?... And if we can, is this all I need to take to the CS along with passport (http://www.cdc.gov/NCIDOD/DQ/pdf/ti-03/appdx-a_693vacc.pdf)? Thanks! Link to comment

Find a good Civil Surgeon in your area and take your wife to him/her. Let them handle all the paperwork, you don't have to fill out anything. They do it all and hand it all to you in a sealed envelope which you either send in along with the I-485 or give it to the IO at the appointmet. Link to comment

The paperwork verifies that she HAS had the shots, so you will need to get them from the civil surgeon, or somewhere else BEFORE going to the civil surgeon. You do NOT need the I-693, only the I-693A vaccination supplement. Link to comment

Ok, I think I finally saw that I also do not even need to bring the I-693A with us?...They have those and fill it out like you said... Now I only hope that one trip will be enough to get the form signed off even though she has had no shots and no yellow book... I'm going to try a CS that was recommended by a fellow CFL'er... Hey thanks!...I think I'm starting to understand now...I wonder if she can get the shots and the paperwork filled out in one appointment or is this something that takes a series of appointments to finish?... david_dawei
The CS is the man you'll have to listen to... If the CS says "jump", you can only say, "how high?"... if they say you must have a second course of this, or a blood test for that.. then you have to (or find another CS). The best case is as Randy-the-man suggests: get everything necessary prior to your CS visit.. find shots from your local clinic or primary care doctor... then pay the CS for the minimum work; to sign off.
