New Chinese passport laws

Recommended Posts

What about the visa portion of the passport? Does that need to be messed with any more? My wife's expired last year.

As long as her Chinese passport is valid she is okay. the visa doesn't mean anything, especially since it's expired.

Her passport is still valid (until 2009) but as I mentioned in an earlier post, it still has her maiden name on it - and I'm concerned about that because of her upcoming trip to China.

Her passport gets her into China - the greencard gets her back into the US. Bring a copy of your marriage license just in case.

Personally, for something this important I would make the 300 mile trip. Not so much because I am leery of internet business found on a search without having been referred by someone I know and trust, but I would be worried about errors or lost items. After everything we go through to get our ladies here I would not want to take a chance on any of the documents getting lost and then having to deal with Immigration to get replacements. Maybe I am just getting old, but hand delivery seems the best way to handle this for me. Make it a weekend outing for you and the wife.

I'm still skeptical Ty. The consulate web page for San Francisco says the same thing visa rite says. A friend of Bing's called them and they told her that too. The link you gave me says they still do extensions and I'm pretty much sure they don't. Tell you what. You send yours in first lol. Let me know what happens.

My wife doesn't really care about doing it. After talking to the guy over the phone he said yes we can get her Chinese pssport renewed.

The only thing I didn't like was that he wanted the original GC and not a copy. But he sounded okay to me. I still might do it if I can talk my wife into it.

Another thing is that Hui doesn't have her GC yet so I can't get her's renewed.

It's the only site I could find on the web that will do it for you. I think it's worth a try!

Man that's gonna suck. Yaya's expires this year (she just noticed this weekend). We just moved to Memphis. Now, we must drive up to Chicago or down to Houston. Three wasted days either way. :redmad: :ranting:

Try this site, Neal. http://www.worldti.com/chinesepassport.html

I called them and they say they can do it for you.

My wife and stepdaughter's passport expire this May 7th and I'm liike you! A little upset that I didn't get them renewed before jan. 1st and having to travel too damn far to the embassy.

Give that place a call and see what you think.
