Ex Wives SSN, Utility bills proof of residence

Dear GUZ,

A new issue has developed, now we the petioner are being asked for proof of ex spouses residence example: SSN, utility bills, Drivers licence.

1) there is a reason why husbands and wives divorce, Some of us will not be able to provide such Information. Why are Divorce papers insufficant????

Dear CFL,

 

There are a variety of reasons why the Consulate may request additional information about an ex-spouse, and these reasons vary by specific case. In general, if applicants are unable to provide requested documents, a statement regarding this can be submitted to the Consulate for informational purposes. However, the acceptability of alternate documents in lieu of a requested document can only be made on a case-by-case basis.
