totup
I am filing my AOS, EAD, and AP at the chicago lockbox facility. I'm trying to find out what is the timeframe for AOS and AP. One site showed that currently they are processing AOS from last year July while they are processing AP from last year August. Does it take the AP that long? If they are only 1 month apart than its not worth the money applying for the AP. We will likely not use it. We wanted to file just in case her parents become ill (they are elderly) and she must quiclky fly to china. But if they are processed so closely I don't think we will use it. Does anyone have a link to the official timeframes? Thanks. Link to comment
Randy W
Your AOS timeline will depend most heavily on the FBI background check, which can add as much as a year. Don't base your plans on those times - they are simply guidelines you can use to maybe guess around when your case may come up. Link to comment
david_dawei
Processing time depends on the local office (add in randy's comment as well on checks). What city would be your local office? Then a rough idea can be made. The AP takes about 2-3 months. Link to comment
totup
I live in Illinois and for a K1 Visa I'm supposed to mail the AOS/AP/EAD to the Chicago Lockbock. Does that mean Chicago is the local office? Link to comment
jim_julian
Totup ... everyone sends their AOS package to the Chicago Lockbox. As I understand it this is the place they check the packages for content and further distribute them. There is also a Chicago Field Office and the information is here. Link to comment

ameriken
I understand that in Colorado, assuming no RFE's or other problems, the normal process should be about 3 months from application to interview. I had an RFE for taxes, and minus that delay, the process did turn out to be 3 months. Link to comment

SirLancelot
AOS Processing Times by Local Office: This chart doesn't bode well for you David. FL is lagging big time. Best you move to NY somewhere to AoS. Link to comment
