I am pleased to announce that the interview was successful and the IR1 visa will be issued the same day.

 

It is little surpirsed that thing went well this time. I thank you all for the help. I do believe that the name check process is back to normal for most cases. I applied both k3 and IR1 and the visa will be for the IR1, which means I will not deal with INS again. The following is my timeline:

 

June 12, 02 -- P1 for K3

July 15, 02 -- IR1 case approval

Oct 20, 02 -- P2 for K3 approval

Nov 21, 02 -- P3 for K3 sent back to GZ

Nov 25, 02 -- P3 for IR1 sent back to NVC

Dec 03, 02 -- name check for K3 sent to DOS

Jan 08, 03 -- NVC sent all IR1 case information to GZ

Feb 29, 03 -- name check for IR1 sent to DOS

Early of March 03 -- call DOS to use K3 name check for IR1 too

Early of March 03 -- called DOS that name check for K3 is complete

March 21, 03 -- received P4 for IR1

April 1, 03 -- interview and get the visa

Good for you!!! But, that was amazingly fast approval for he IR-1. Only the Vermont Service Center could have done that I believe. The Texas Service Center where I had to file is so very far behind.
