Hi all,

 

The topic of discussion recently with my fiance is what type of work will she do when she comes to the USA. She has many skills, having worked as a manager in GZ, but her English speaking skills are only so-so (reading and writing are quite good).

 

I reassure her that finanically we will be fine on my income, but she has always been independent and held white collar positions. She wishes to work and contribute to the household She also wishes to feel conncected to the US workforce and continue her career. Like many of us, our occupation helps, in part, to define us. She is good with computers and numbers from her managerial experiences so we have been considering some type of accounting occupations where frequent use of conversation is not quite as critical.

 

I am wondering what kinds of experiences people have recently had in seeking and finding work in the USA after arriving from China.

 

Any suggestions or tips?
