Call DOS Tuesday morning cause Monday is a Holiday

As I recall the # is 202-663-1225 I guess it still works

You will need the Guz# and DOB of your wife

and welcome to CFL!

By doing this you can trace your case down. But six weeks in normal so nothing to worry about yet.

contacting DOS is the best approach.

You shouldn't expect to really hear anything yet anyway.. It will sit in customs for about a month or more, then get entered in the computer... Being a CR1, they cannot start the name check till the physical case is at the consulate. Then a namecheck is initiated and when complete you get queued up for an interview... and will then receive the P4.

So for a CR1, you don't really hear anything till it's interview time.. so best to make the contact yourself.

The last few CR1s average (for trouble-free namechecks) is just over 100 days from NVC - P4...

WHen you call, ask about the status of the namecheck.. that's the final critical step... They might say "eligible for an interview" or "documentarily qualified"; both mean your in the interview scheduling queue... otherwise, the namecheck or some form of AR could be pending
