david_dawei
contacting DOS is the best approach. You shouldn't expect to really hear anything yet anyway.. It will sit in customs for about a month or more, then get entered in the computer... Being a CR1, they cannot start the name check till the physical case is at the consulate. Then a namecheck is initiated and when complete you get queued up for an interview... and will then receive the P4. So for a CR1, you don't really hear anything till it's interview time.. so best to make the contact yourself. The last few CR1s average (for trouble-free namechecks) is just over 100 days from NVC - P4... WHen you call, ask about the status of the namecheck.. that's the final critical step... They might say "eligible for an interview" or "documentarily qualified"; both mean your in the interview scheduling queue... otherwise, the namecheck or some form of AR could be pending Link to comment
